Sponceram® 96-Well Size

Sponceram® is an innovative, highly porous ceramic scaffold material based on zirconium dioxide (ZrO₂) and coated with hydroxyapatite (HA). It has been specifically developed for demanding applications in three-dimensional cell culture and tissue engineering.

Its macro- and microporous structure provides an exceptionally large surface area, creating positive conditions for cell adhesion, proliferation, and differentiation. The hydroxyapatite coating enhances the scaffold’s bioactive and osteoconductive surface properties, making it particularly suitable for bone-related tissue engineering applications. The open pore architecture ensures efficient nutrient supply and the removal of metabolic byproducts—essential for the cultivation of complex tissue structures.

Sponceram® can be used with dynamic cultivation systems, such as rotating systems or bioreactors.
